You have your brand new website all ready to go. It looks the part. Everything is as it should. If you're selling something, your store and cart are ready to go! Now all you need is...the customer! How will you get people to see the site you've worked so hard on? There are conventional methods such as paying for advertising spots. Or you could always go the free route. There are several tools you can use at the tips of your fingers to make your site grow and prosper. Here are a few methods in no particular order.
Social Network Sites Facebook, Myspace, Twitter. They are all ways of getting people to connect. There is ample opportunities to leave your website's link everywhere. Its a great way to "meet" a lot of potential customers.
Blogging With your blog, you can write about the goings on of your site. Leave a link in every post you make and on the main page of the blog. If you can find a community of other bloggers with businesses similar to your own, you could even join together to support each other. Its a great way to garner attention.
Forums Especially ones that allow links in the signature area of your posts. The more you post, the more your link will get counted and can help your page rank. The higher your page rank, the more you will get noticed!
Posting Classified Ads There are several sites that have free classified listings. Craigslist is a good one. Posting ads in there can get a good amount of traffic.
Writing Articles You can write about what you sell or do on your site or you can write about experiences you've had. The beauty of article writing (especially on EZine Articles) is that you can leave your sites link at the bottom of each article you write!
Submitting to Search Engines and Directories You can submit your site to Google, Yahoo, etc. and that will help get your site seen. Most are free and some are cost, so look carefully
This is a good start to get your business off the ground. It can be quick and easy and well worth it in the end!
